Globaleaks is a multi-language platform that strives to reach users across the globe. We need your help to extend the platform to even more languages. Your task will be to contribute translations for the Globaleaks application in your native language using Transifex, a collaborative translation platform.

By helping with translations, you ensure that more people can use Globaleaks in their own language.
This is particular important so that whistleblowers can safely understand the technology and achieve better results.

Steps:

1. Sign up on Transifex:

   • If you don’t already have an account, go to the Globaleaks Transifex page, and sign up.

2. Request Access for Your Language:

   • Request access for the language you would like to contribute to. You can find a list of available languages on the Transifex page, or if your language is not listed, you can suggest it. If your language is not present you may request it.

3. Wait for Admin Approval:

   • After submitting your request, our administrators will review and enable access to your requested language.

4. Start Translating:

   • Once your access is granted, you will be able to start translating the application into your language. The Transifex platform will allow you to translate various text elements of the application.
   • Make sure your translations are clear, concise, and culturally appropriate. Review any suggestions and contributions from project maintainers and other translators.

5. Submit Your Translations:

   • After completing your translations, make sure to submit them. The translations will be reviewed and, once approved, they will be merged into the Globaleaks application.

Prerequisites:

• Basic Requirements: No coding skills required! You just need to be fluent in the language you're contributing to and willing to help.
• Tools: A Transifex account.
• Knowledge: A good understanding of the language you are translating into and a keen eye for detail.

Why it's a Good First Issue:

• Translating is an excellent entry point for new contributors because it doesn't require deep technical knowledge. You will get familiar with the project and help make the platform more accessible to users in your native language.
• You’ll also become part of the collaborative translation community within Globaleaks, which is a great way to get involved.
