Ghost display after switching space

Running on macOS Sequoia, with the following config:

background-opacity = 0
macos-non-native-fullscreen = visible-menu
fullscreen = true
window-save-state = always

If I have some information displayed on screen, switch to another space, come back, then clear my screen I get some ghost display from the previous data. I need to exit full screen mode to remove the ghost writing or switch space again. It happens in every split. See attached

... what? lol. How can this be? I haven't tried to reproduce this yet but this is weird as well. cc @qwerasd205 can you think of any reason a renderer would do this?

o.O my initial guess is it's compositor shenanigans...

Yes, looking closely it seems the compositor is applying some sort of drop shadow effect to the contents with non-native-fullscreen set like that, and it's only updating when switching spaces. Idk off the top of my head what the correct solution is here.

I also experienced this.

With color curve modification:

I can reliably reproduce this with the following steps:

1. Launch Ghostty

2. Open quick terminal

3. Type echo "Hello, ghosting!" and press enter

   

4. Cmd+Enter to enter fullscreen

5. Cmd+Enter to exit fullscreen

6. Type clear and press enter

7. The text remains slightly visible

   

   With color correction:

   

Having a white background really helps me see the ghosting.
