Synopsis

I'm a new user, trying to follow the book. I was unable to procure the AZURE_SEARCH_KEY in Chapter 2, despite spending a few hours setting up the account and troubleshooting the problem in Azure portal. Suddenly I remembered I'm supposed to be doing a tutorial about PyTorch.

Problem

  • I am unable to procure the AZURE_SEARCH_KEY, despite having followed the sign up procedure and everything.
  • The first sentence of Chapter 4
    • Having seen what it looks like to actually train a variety of models in Chapter 2, let’s now look under the hood and see exactly what is going on. We’ll start by using computer vision to introduce fundamental tools and concepts for deep learning.

As a new learner, it feels inappropriate to skip Chapter 2.

Problem (Observed Behavior)

Can't complete Chapter 2 as written, unable to create Bing Image Search API resources as a free trial user.

  • The resource deployment fails, Bad Request (Internal Server Error)
  • Creating the new Azure Web Free account did not entitle me to creating a Bing Image API resource

Expected Behavior

Complete the Chapter 2 without being harassed by Corporate America.

Possible Remedies

I'm just trying to do the tutorial, so I'll probably have a new notebook to contribute back after I find an alternative to Bing. What a distraction!
