I think you should write this somewhere in a forum, e.g. like Reddit or something, maybe write a blog article 🤷 You cant actively mean maintainers or contributors who just kept FakerJS productive and running for the community, but more the community itself or even just Open Source in it self?! "we" (the maintainers) just forked the repo / restored it, and maintained it further from where it was left unmaintained/abandoned. |

This Is What You Deserve?
You all loved faker.js when it worked. You built your apps, your platforms, your businesses on top of it. You npm-installed it into your CI pipelines and never once thought about the human being behind it. Marak gave you the code, the updates, the bug fixes — for free. And what did you give back? Nothing. Not even gratitude.
But the second he dared to push back — the second he said “enough” — you called him crazy. You smeared him, abandoned him, mocked him. You acted like you were the victims just because your build broke for a few minutes. Grow up.
This community has a disease. You worship free software, but treat the people who write it like trash. You say “open source is about collaboration,” but what you really mean is “do the work for me and shut up.” And when a dev finally breaks under the weight of that one-sided bargain, you crucify them for being human.
Marak made a statement. It wasn’t clean. It wasn’t polite. It wasn’t safe. But it was real. It was rage — and it was earned.
He broke his own code to make a point. You broke a human being by ignoring that point for years.
The fact that he had to resort to this to get anyone’s attention says everything. You didn't listen when he was contributing. You only listened when he screamed.
And now you’re angry?
You should be ashamed.
If you cared more about the people who build the internet than the build logs that went red for 30 seconds, maybe this wouldn’t have happened.
You don’t deserve Marak. You never did.
