Generalize data handler and model interfaces to support tasks such as temporal interpolation and spatial downscaling.

Goal

To be determined.

Scope

  • Introduce task-specific logic to the data handling pipeline.

For AICON-LAM (embedded grid) we need to handle (two or more) different datasets:

  • Global dataset containing a distinct set of variables and grid points
  • Regional dataset containing a different/distinct set of variables and grid points

with different settings of the time steps used in the model (include also future time steps for the global model as commented here 232
