With reference to request coming from EF Core team (dotnet/efcore#35730), opening this issue for tracking feature introduction in the SqlClient repo.

@cheenamalhotra - are we on track on this one to be completed by end of month? I want to make sure I can prioritize EF side of changes as soon as this is completed.
