Ubuntu 24.04 qvh can't find the iPhone

Trying to run qvh with gstreamer in Ubuntu 24.04. When I run
qvh activate --udid={inserted UDID}
I get the error:
{"error_message":"no device found to activate","original_error":"device with udid:'UDID' not found"}
The device is clearly connected because I can browse the media using the file manager and I found the UDID using pymobiledevice3
The phone is an iPhone 14 running iOS 16.3.1

Any ideas?
