The "This entry has been updated." notification can sometimes be triggered by simply opening a nested entry's slideout – i.e. without the owner entry actually being changed (externally or otherwise).
This is locally on my machine (i.e. only me logged in). I've verified that I do not have the entry's edit page open in multiple tabs or browsers:
The steps to reproduce are somewhat roundabout. FWIW, I'm pretty sure I've seen this occur in other circumstances as well, but this should at least consistently trigger the behavior:
Create a Matrix field with a single entry type. Leave all the field settings to their defaults.
Add the Matrix field to an entry type, create an entry using that type, and create a nested entry in the Matrix field. Save the owner entry after creating the nested entry.
After saving the owner entry, double-click the nested entry card to open its slideout. Make some changes to the nested entry, and save it. Do not save the owner entry.
Double-click to re-open the nested entry's slideout. At this point the "This entry has been updated." toast should appear.
Expected behavior
The "This entry has been updated." notification should only appear if an entry is actually changed.
Actual behavior
In certain situations, the notification will appear when simply opening a nested entry slideout.
