Ability to add widgets to field layouts

It's great that we can add custom template UI elements to field layouts. I think it would be extra nice if Craft also provided a ready-made set of "widgets" like the ones used in the dashboard.

Use cases:

• Show the current entry's children.
• Show the current entry's siblings.
• Button to add a new entry to a specific section when inside the entry representing that section's index page.
• Show most recent/all entries from a specific section when inside the entry representing that section's index page.
• Link to previous/next entry in a section.
• Basically any entry could become a mini dashboard.

Granted, all of the above are already achievable with custom template UI elements, or a custom plugin, so it's mainly a convenience thing. An extra bonus would be if we could choose to place such widgets in the sidebar.

Technically a plugin could start making these sorts of things available as UI Elements today.

Yes, I'm not sure if it would be the right call to add a UI for this in core, maybe it could be considered as bloat. On the other hand it would lower the barrier for those not well versed in plugin development, or even those who can't make the time investment. Anyway, thanks for your reply 🙂
