Kiwix-serve is an application for reading Kiwix (ZIM) formatted books -- typically encyclopedia-style books. Kiwix's ZIM format has nothing to do with Zim Desktop Wiki. The use of the word zim is a name collision between Kiwix and Zim Desktop Wiki.

Kiwix-serve probably belongs on the Awesome Self Hosted list, under "Document Management - Ebooks".
