How to add .well-known/atproto-did to verify on bluesky?

I am trying to verify my github page domain on Bluesky. I added ".well-known/atproto-did" at root and edited _config.yml to the following
"include: ["_pages", "_scripts", ".well-known"]

But I am getting a 404 error when trying to access "mydomain.com/.well-known/atproto-did"

What am I doing wrong? Thank you!

You should use include when you want files to be processed by jekyll, which I think is not your case. You want files to be included in the built site, but not processed by jekyll, so try adding it to keep_files instead. Another option might be adding it to the default scope. We add the assets directory this way in our config file.

Thank you for the suggestions. I tried adding it to keep_files as follows

- .well-known/atproto-did

But I am still having the not found error. Will give a try with default scope later. Thank you very much!
