Description

I find that when opening a library with lots of mp3 and/or wav files for the first time, that the waveform thumbnail generation really slows down my pc.

Solution

A checkbox in the settings to toggle the waveform generation could be really nice for people that either don't have a need for the waveform thumnails, or that experience performance issues with it.
Then it would presumably just display a default audio icon in place of the thumbnail. (or album cover)
