Ideally it writes to a file as well.

What would that be intended for? If you want it for things like bug reports, we could add a separate thing for that.

Also, can't people just use the system's respective commands if they want host system info?

Yes, for users sending bug reports, specifically for when graphics init is failing on their machine.

Users can do that, but most won't because they don't know how and don't care to learn. Rather than walk them through a dozen steps, asking them to run a single PowerShell command is much simpler.

Making our own is also an opportunity to include specific things like assembly resolution which would never be included in settings/CPU-Z/Steam/whatever.
