The envelope icon seems like the natural choice but that just takes you to notifications.

Suggest:

So I suggest the thread 🧵 emoji.
Make notification use a bell icon 🔔 as is conventional.
(On my machine, the envelope emoji just looks like a gray rectangle so is not helpful.)
