Howdy, really liking umu so far but it would be nice if it was possible to declaratively configure the prefixes either through nix or a toml file

Do you mind sharing your use case for wanting to change the structure of the prefix?

more so the config, like what extras are installed through protontricks and where the prefix will be located as well as its name. i was doing this mainly for warframe(and trying to get alecaframe to run) and thought it would be nice to have one file for all the prefixes config

Isn't umu intended to be used by game launchers/stores, who are responsible for defining the config?

A home-manager module may be useful if there is a user-defined config file that could be written by home-manager. Such a module would likely just have enable, package, and settings options. With settings being a nix attrset that gets converted to the umu config file at build time.

If this is actually useful, it's probably worth contributing it directly to home-manager, rather than having a homeModules output on this repo's flake.
