hls streaming?

Hello there,
As far as I understood, Motion uses MJPEG as the streaming protocol. Is it possible to stream using HLS/h.264(265), maybe using something external? I found no "hls" in the entire doc. Expected benefit is lower bandwidth.

No built-in support, but you can use any third-party encoding software to transcode and restream, ex, ffmpeg or vlc

At this moment I'm using the following to record video on motion detected:

movie_output off
movie_extpipe_use on
movie_extpipe ffmpeg -f rawvideo ...

Ffmpeg sounds fine but could you please let me know what option should I use if I want to have stream active all the time, not just during motions period? I found nothing suitable in stream_* options.

FYI. Motion complied via the current master branch does also provide a mpegts stream feed (but no hls)
