Status: September 2024

• Plans are being made to brief the DV community on CEDAR (similar to our DDI CDI efforts) to gauge interest and get input. Afterwards, @jggautier and @scolapasta will investigate ways to provide CEDAR support.

• Met with Balazs and team for demo on their integration.
• Meeting with metadata coordination team on 3/17/25 to discuss how to proceed:

Suggestion

Intended users: Installation Administrators
Use Case: Use CEDAR for manually creating Dataverse Metadata blocks, and import into Dataverse

• Review Balaz's work to see how much can be re-used.

• What are the gaps in implementation the Dataverse would have to fill?

• What UI would be needed to support this?

• There is currently an API endpoint for uploading TSV files, this could be modified to accept CEDAR metadata format

  What training would be needed for admins to use Cedar as an metadata editor? (there may be features in Cedar that aren't supported in Dataverse, so users should avoid those).

Deadline for GREI is September
Need to incorporate this in the Dataverse and frontend planning post our July release of SPA beta
