OTEL has stable semantic conventions for recording exceptions on logs: https://opentelemetry.io/docs/specs/semconv/exceptions/exceptions-logs/

Could support for mapping those attributes to Datadog attributes be added to pkg/otlp/logs? It appears pretty straightforward:

  • exception.message -> error.message
  • exception.type -> error.kind
  • exception.stacktrace -> error.stack
