Could nixcats.org have DNSSEC configured?

Hello, I've tried to access https://nixcats.org but after further investigation I cannot access it because missing of DNSSEC configuration.

$ resolvectl query nixcats.org
nixcats.org: resolve call failed: DNSSEC validation failed: no-signature

Would it be possible to configure/enable DNSSEC? 🙏

Didnt know I was missing it? Accessing the site works fine for me on all the devices I have tried so far?

Its a github pages site, mirrored to a domain registered with namecheap

Unsure how to get that set up, but I can figure it out!

In the meantime until I manage to address it, you can generate the site locally with nix run github:BirdeeHub/nixCats-doc -- ./tmp and serve with cd ./tmp && python -m http.server 5555 and navigate to localhost:5555/TOC.html in a browser, but be aware the links on the main home page generated from the readme will still redirect to the site.

In addition, most of the docs are in your editor via :help nixCats*, and the ones that arent are generated from the files utils/default.nix and utils/mkOpts.nix

There is almost certainly a browser setting that can allow it anyway.

Can you access it via the github url directly or does it still try to redirect to the actual domain and fail?

It appears that namecheap does not offer that for free, I may need to pay for their premiumDNS to do that.

If I can do it for free, then yes definitely. If not... maybe? I dont exactly have a ton of money to be spending on keeping the site up and running, I was pretty happy with the 15$ a year deal XD

I will look into it and how much it would cost. It really does not take much to price me out unfortunately. If it's an extra 5$ a year, sure, more and idk about that.

You might want to check in the meantime if there is a browser setting you can toggle to allow it, because most people seem to be able to access it without issue as far as I'm aware.

It's not a browser setting but a systemd.network config so I cannot easily change that/whitelist a website

Well, if it's cheap or I can find a way to do it for free I can do it but otherwise, hey, most of it is available in-editor, the only thing that aren't are the generated docs from the nix files themselves, and the site is 100% generated by that other repo from the content in the main repo, so, yeah... Sorry about that. I will look into it though for sure.

Ill spend a bit more later, but for now, Im going to go back to working on the remote-host update.

Im excited about it. It will replace withPython3 and withNodeJs with actually useful options, and as a side effect, let you bundle anything with your nvim, and give it categories.

For existing users, its a simple rename withPython3 to hosts.python3.enable in settings, and everything has deprecation warnings. But with the updates, you could also define, say, a neovide "host" to bundle with your nvim and then wrap it with the same category scheme you use with nvim itself :)

I am unsure if I was correct, I found better docs, I might not need the premium thing.

It gives me a toggle switch but.... nowhere to add DS records??
