Signal is releasing a new feature in the upcoming version 7.42.0 of its desktop client. This feature will synchronize newly linked devices with the primary device and retrieve chats and 45 days of media from the primary device to the newly linked device.

Since signal-cli doesn't actually store messages and media, this is not possible for those who use signal-cli as their primary device.

This feature is very useful and important, especially for those using Signal groups.

Is there any chance this feature will be implemented in signal-cli as well in the near future?

Storage of messages and media could be implemented, but probably not in the near future.
