we were discussing a fix to an issue affecting 16xx cards but not 10xx ones, even if some symptoms are similar (totally black images) the causes could be different, so starting a new issue is better for you than staying here |

Works for me on the GTX 1660 SUPER, reduces VRAM usage but at a massive cost in performance.
Worth implementing as flag, it saves almost 2GB VRAM. Would only use it with other optimizations that bring the perf back to a more reasonable number. |

I've fielded a number of requests for help with 16xx cards getting black/green screen and the standard answer has been been to add --precision full --no-half
It seems there's a different fix for it that does not incur a performance penalty.
