GTFS Fares V2 rules not applied with network_id in routes.txt

I have encountered the following issue - having the network_id specified in routes.txt leads to Fares V2 rules not being applied.
The same dataset works with the routes to networks correspondence being provided through route_networks.txt works properly.

Thanks! I didn't see this field. I used the list provided on gtfs.org as orientation:

The files associated with GTFS-Fares V1 are:

• fare_attributes.txt
• fare_rules.txt

The files associated with GTFS-Fares V2 are:

• fare_media.txt
• fare_products.txt
• rider_categories.txt
• fare_leg_rules.txt
• fare_leg_join_rules.txt
• fare_transfer_rules.txt
• timeframes.txt
• networks.txt
• route_networks.txt
• areas.txt
• stop_areas.txt

And for everything else, it has been enough to only look at those files.

To be honest, I am not a big fan of having multiple ways to model the same thing. That has always been a strength of GTFS vs NeTEx that for most things there's one best way to do it, not 5+.
