NumberFormat should handle numeric types without ".abs" ".isNegative" properties

I faced often the issue that I want to format types like Decimal, Rational, BigInt (from Flutter), Fixed (from money2 package). I often need to convert it to double before, it would be very nice that it would just work.

We are wrapping a Rust package (therefore the link to the rust docs). To not include the full 30MB of the compiled library, we are working on tree shaking native libraries. Once that is shipped, we can make this package stable. But no fixed timeframe, working hard to get it landed though!

No, we don't make promises on the APIs staying the same - this would mean some ugly compromises.

Yes, it is really cool. It's not just for Rust, mainly "just for" C - I don't know how go compiles though. The implementation is basically calling a linker with a list of symbols to be used, see https://pub.dev/documentation/native_toolchain_c/latest/native_toolchain_c/LinkerOptions/LinkerOptions.treeshake.html and the CLinker implementation. The list of symbols is made available by the Dart compiler.
